ABOUT US
ZERO LANDFILL NATION
The Association came into existence in 2015 with a vision of working towards building a ” ZERO LANDFILL NATION “. It provides principles for guiding policy and priority setting, and includes an action plan for reducing and managing waste.
The Association has been registered under section 8 (1) of the Companies Act, 2013 with registration no. U37100DL2015NPL284636 on 27th August 2015.
OUR MISSION
- To bring all the recycling and environment businesses, organizations, institutions and professionals on a single platform and provide mutual strength and support.
- To closely interact with the governments, statutory agencies and institutions to help them in framing policies and regulations that promotes recycling and environment-friendly businesses in alignment with REIA’s objectives.
- The ultimate long-term objective of REIA is to make India a “Landfill Free” country by recycling everything.
- To make Indian industry, including recycling industry, environmentally as well as socially sustainable.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
- The overarching objective of the association is to promote sustainable development through Recovery, Reuse & Recycling of Resources including energy and to facilitate effective and efficient environmental solutions to Indian industry and others.
- To work towards making India a "landfill free country".
- To recognize contribution of the rag pickers and transform them into Industrial Workers and to bring informal sector into mainstream.
- To facilitate Research & Development (R&D) to evolve sustainable environmental and social problems faced by the country.
- To create awareness on potential solutions to environmental resource issues through workshops, conferences, trade fairs, top management clinics etc.
- To organise training programs and advisory services to industry, regulatory bodies, Govt. departments etc. inline with the above stated objectives and aims.
- To develop relations with relevant counterparts and others internationally.
- To undertake all activities including preparing white papers, representations to the Government and other statutory bodies on behalf of recycling and environment industry in India to resolve their issues and concerns.
- To facilitate inward and outward technology transfers.
